Google Launches Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform at Google Cloud Next
Google DeepMind has announced the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform at Google Cloud Next, describing it as "the evolution of Vertex AI" — a unified platform for businesses to develop, scale, govern, and optimise agents. The platform provides access to more than 200 models through a Model Garden, including the newly available Gemini 3.1 Pro, Gemini 3.1 Flash Image, Lyria 3 (audio/music), and Gemma 4 (open-weight). Google simultaneously announced partnerships with Accenture, Bain, BCG, Deloitte, and McKinsey to accelerate enterprise adoption, noting that only 25% of organisations have moved AI to production at scale.
Why It Matters
The rebranding of Vertex AI as an "agent platform" — combined with the same-day announcement of five major consultancy partnerships — represents Google's most direct enterprise AI push to date, arriving the same week OpenAI launched Workspace Agents and signals a full competitive convergence on the agentic enterprise layer.
